Velvet presents Into The Movies

Velvet held the Oscar Party 2012 recently at the Ayala Museum to celebrate Hollywood’s most anticipated event, the 84^thAcademy Awards.

The Governor’s Ball inspired party was hosted by actress, VJ and one of the prettiest faces in the showbiz industry today, Megan Young. Performances that night was from rock music icon, Bamboo. The Diegos featuring Pedicab’s frontman Diego Mapa and Sandwich’s lead guitarist Diego Castillo entertained the guests with their infectious and eclectic beats.

The highlight of the night was the premiere of the four-part vignette series titled, “Velvet presents Into The Movies.” It features an interesting mix of the country’s showbiz royalties, the local fashion scene’s trend-setters, and the industry’s noted filmmakers and critics as they share their thoughts on the movies, the Academy Awards, and how it has stirred their craft to great heights. These personalities are, Anne Curtis, Xian Lim, Rafael Rosell, Randy Ortiz, Rajo Laurel, Amina Aranaz-Alunan, Sassa Jimenez, Jose Javier Reyes, Lee Meiley, Paul Soriano, Joaquin Pedro Valdes, Michealle Torres, Oggs Cruz, Mihk Vergara, and Divine Lee. The series will air on the channel leading to the live telecast of the awards ceremony.

And just when you think the night couldn’t get any better, well it just got tastier. A special Oscar-inspired menu, created by renowned chef Jessie Sincioco, was served that night.
