Himig Handog has announced the winners among its Pop (P-POP) Love Songs finalists. Among the special awards presented during the Finals Night at SM Mall Of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Philippines, the first ever TFC People’s Choice Award was given to This Song’s For You composed by Jude Thaddeus Gitamondoc and performed by Erik Santos. The song received the most votes from registered users outside the Philippines on TFC.tv, the official online platform of The Filipino Channel (TFC).
“As part of TFC’s mission to provide Filipinos overseas with more opportunities to participate and engage with families and communities back home, we worked with Star Records to include a TFC People’s Choice award. This allowed our viewers who are abroad to identify with songs that hit home, and gave them a chance to be heard through their online votes,” Jojo Ines, ABS-CBN Global chief marketing officer said. He was joined by Western Union Senior Marketing Manager Cecila Natividad in presenting Gitamondoc with the TFC People’s Choice award and the PHP 50,000 cash prize.
