Team USA won the gold medals in the 2012 London Olympics against Spain, 107-100 in the 2012 London Olympics final game held at the North Greenwich Arena on Sunday, August 12, 2012.
It was a close fight from start to finish although Team USA pulled away a little bit in the middle of the final period.
Spain lead by Serge Ibaka, brothers Pau and Marc Gasol was abel to get close by six down three minutes until Team USA Lebron James, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant showed some spectacular shots.
Kevin Durant scores 30 points with 9 rebounds, LeBron James scores 19 points while Kobe Bryant had 17 points for the USA NationalBasketball Team.
Pau Gasol scored 24 points while Juan Carlos Navarro contributed 21 points for Spain.
Team USA led by eight at the end of the first quarter, 35-27. Spain rallied in the second quarter to close halftime at 59-58 in favor of the US National team.
Terrific three point shooting by Durant and James in the end game sealed the win for the Americans.
This is the fourteenth gold medal that US men’s national basketball team won in the Olympic games for seventeen appearances since 1936.
Team USA also became Olympic champions in 1948, 1952, 1956, 1960, 1964, 1968, 1976, 1984, 1992, 1996, 2000, and 2008.
