Suspension of Classes due Nationwide Transport Strike (March 15, 2012)

Transport groups will be having a nationwide transport strike today Thursday (March 15, 2012), they will be protesting the rising cost of petroleum products.

The Department of Education announced that the suspension of classes is in the discretion their schools and respective local government units.

“As per agreement in the TRASMA meeting, LGUs shall take the lead in suspending classes tomorrow should there be a need to do so,” the education department in its Twitter account (@DepEd_PH) posted Wednesday.

Some schools and universities already announced suspension of classes.

  • DepEd announced that classes will be suspended in all levels in Parañaque and San Juan.
  • Far Eastern University (FEU) Manila reportedly announced suspension of classes.
  • Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) Diliman reportedly announced suspension of classes.
MMDA tweeted that Number Coding is in effect today. MMDA, AFP, DOTC & other gov agencies will deploy Libreng Sakay if needed.
