#PinoyRelief The Benefit Concert,” will be held at The Theater at the Madison Square Garden on March 11.
According to Pinoy Relief’s official website, its mission is “to provide relief to victims of natural disasters in the Philippines – with the current focus being victims of Typhoon Haiyan.”
It was created in the wake of the super typhoon which struck the Philippines in November, the organization “was formed to generate awareness, raise funds and create sustainable recovery programs for the victims and communities affected by this devastating natural disaster.”
“The focus of our organization is to bring the power of a global community (aggregated resources, crisis expertise, and awareness) to help the masses in need at a local level. We aim to stabilize affected communities by providing resources, life necessities, temporary facilities and tools to farmers, fishermen, small businesses, teachers, doctors, individuals and families,” the website added.
Charice and Jennifer Sanchez will perform for the said benefit concert. Others will be there are Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson, Pentatonix, Plain White T’s, A Great Big World, DJ Poet Name Life and Reo Brothers.
The show will also be graced by the special appearances of Filipino-American apl.de.ap of the Black Eyed Peas and EGOT award winning songwriters Robert and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.
