New Facebook Features Revealed: Adding Life Event Like “Expecting A Baby”

Facebook members expecting a child can add their life event via “Expecting a Baby” on their timelines, the social networking giant said this week.

According to Facebook’s Matthew Dierker said “expecting a baby” will be added to the list of life events that will be visible to users’ friends.

“Life Events are easy and expressive ways to mark significant moments in your life such as getting married, buying a house or traveling to new places. If you choose to, you can now share that you are expecting a baby with your friends on Facebook,” he said.

Screenshots posted on Dierker’s post indicated the “Expecting a Baby” event allows the user to indicate if the baby would be a girl or boy.

It will also allow the user to upload photos of the baby to be born.

“You’ll also be able to see when your friends are expecting a baby from your Celebrations section on your homepage,” Dierker said.

Other life events available on Facebook include First Met, New Relationship, Engagement, Marriage, New Child, New Family Member, New Pet, End of Relationship, and Loss of a Loved One.
