Do you want to delete some embarrassing photos on your Facebook account forever?
Facebook announced that they will delete photos from their servers in a reasonable amount of time.
Now the company acquired new servers, deleting a particular photos will exist for no longer than a month, according to a spokesperson.
“As a result of work on our policies and infrastructure, we have instituted a ‘max-age’ of 30 days for our CDN links,” Frederic Wolens said. “However, in some cases the content will expire on the CDN much more quickly, based on a number of factors.” When Arc Technica’s Jacqui Cheng tried it out herself, her photos were deleted from the Internet in just two days.
Facebook has also extended their policy to Instagram’s images. As you can remember, they bought the photo sharing app for iOs and Android earlier this year. Deleted pictures from the app will remain on their servers no longer than 24 hours.
