The FIBA Asia Cup 2012 Preliminary Round schedule on September 14-21 at the Ota Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan.
The tournament is divided in Team A and Team B:

Team B:
- Chinese Taipei
- India
- Iran
- Japan
- Qatar
The 2012 FIBA Asia Cup is the 4th FIBA Asia Cup.
Japan (host) and China (Asian champion) will be automatically qualified according to FIBA Asia rules. The other two places are allocated to the zones according to performance in the 2011 FIBA Asia Championship.
